Late Summer Blog Post

August 24, 2016 By Randi Savage

latesummer2I am a witness to how Nature’s energy changes and moves with each season. Nature is moving from the season of Summer into the season of Late Summer. The Summer is coming to an end. The flowers have reached their fullest potential for this season… their colors muted and petals both drooping and dropping . The air is starting to get a bit more humid as plants begin to dry out from the last of the Summer’s heat. The blazing hot dry sun is starting to give way to cooler mornings and evenings. The light is transitioning from a dialed down sunlight to a duller, lower light. I start and end my days with less daylight. I wake to geese honking to each other as they fly overhead.

I personally experience this “fullest” time of year…the bittersweet vibration of Late Summer. I go to the markets to witness and absorb the Harvest from the Summer’s work. I eat tomatoes fresh off the vine, my fingers drip with the juice from a plump, ripe peach. I indulge in the Harvest-nourishing my body and feeding my spirit.   I contemplate how Mother Earth has not only provided physical nourishment for me, but also nourishment for my mind and my spirit.

I take time to digest some of my experiences of the Summer: Hiking in the Italian Alps, snorkeling and kayaking in the Ligurian Sea, enjoying amazing two and three hour meals with wonderful friends on the shores of Lake Como, and savoring every bite of gelato as I sit in the Summer sun. I nourish my spirit with such adventures. My heart is open and feels the warmth of Summer penetrating inward. I don’t want it to end! When Autumn and Winter are upon me, I can reflect back and feel the warmth from my summer on all levels.

In this season of Late Summer, what do you want to Harvest?   To Digest? How can you continue to provide yourself with the Nourishment you need on all levels- body, mind, and spirit?

This is a great time to schedule an appointment for a  “Seasonal Tune-Up” or an initial appointment.

Summer Blog Post

June 9, 2016 By Randi Savage

This is my first Blog Post. It comes on the heels of a tragedy for all of us. I am speaking of the mass shooting that took place June 12 in Orlando at a well-known LGBT night club. I hear many people responding with “Love, not Hatred.” When I hear this, I am reminded of the Fire Element.

fire-border_100x138JR Worsley writes in Volume III, The Five Elements and The Officials, The Fire Element “fires our spirit and gives us an inner communion with God’s love, allowing us to share in spirit which pervades everything in the universe. It flows through our relationships with our partners, our families and our friends, and it is the power by which we transform ourselves and one another. It feeds our relationships and enables us to feel at one with the people we happen to meet, even with people whom we pass on the street.” The Fire Element allows us to give and receive Love.

What is needed most in our world today is Love. Open Heart, Open Mind, allow us to be one with another despite any differences we may see, hear, or feel.

We build resilience and peace by being kind, having compassion, embracing our differences, and giving and receiving Love.
